LexxTug Automated Transportation Solution Selected for AEON NEXT’s Customer Fulfillment Center

Kawasaki, Kanagawa – November 4th, 2025 – AEON NEXT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiba, Chiba; President: Bharat Ruparel; hereinafter “AEON NEXT”) has decided to introduce the “LexxTug” automated cart/6-wheel dolly transportation solution at its Hachioji Customer Fulfillment Center (hereinafter “Hachioji CFC”), scheduled to open in 2026. The solution utilizes the “Lexx500” Autonomous Mobile Robot and the “LexxTug” cart attachment interface, both developed by LexxPluss Inc. (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Kanagawa; CEO: Masaya Aso).

The implementation of LexxTug is expected to boost the supply capacity of the Hachioji CFC by streamlining dolly transportation in the refrigerated area. This service will be provided collaboratively by LexxPluss and U-MACHINE Co., Ltd., a group company of Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroki Kui).

■ Background of the Introduction

AEON NEXT’s CFCs are large-scale logistics hubs that support “Green Beans,” Aeon’s online-only supermarket, by delivering a wide range of products, including fresh food and daily necessities, to customers. The Hachioji CFC is set to open in 2026.

At existing CFCs, electric movers are currently used for dolly transportation in the refrigerated area. However, challenges include:

– Assigning personnel to operate the movers.
– Securing time for training and education.
– Ensuring the safety of both operators and products, such as avoiding contact with pillars.

By automating the transportation process with LexxTug, operators can focus on inbound tasks, which will contribute to improving the CFC’s supply capacity.

LexxTug is an automated transportation solution for roll carts and 6-wheel dollies. When attached to the “Lexx500” Autonomous Mobile Robot, it allows for the automatic detachment, attachment, and transportation of carts already in use at logistics and manufacturing sites without modification.
