LexxPluss and Mitsubishi HC Capital Launch Subscription-Based Robotics Service for Logistics Operators

Press Release

Enhancing Automation and Efficiency in Logistics Operations

Kawasaki, Japan – LexxPluss Inc. (hereinafter “LexxPluss”) and Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. (hereinafter “Mitsubishi HC Capital”) announced the launch of “LexxSubCare”, a subscription-based robotics service designed for logistics operators in Japan. Through this service, both companies aim to support the automation and optimization of transport operations within logistics hubs.

1. Background of LexxSubCare

Logistics hubs face severe labor shortages due to an aging workforce and challenging working conditions, including heavy material transport and long-distance movement within warehouses. While companies seek to automate traditional manual processes and reduce workforce dependency through robotics, the lack of experience in automation presents challenges. These include identifying operational inefficiencies, designing workflows that incorporate robots, and allocating the necessary time and resources for implementation.

Logistics operators have expressed concerns regarding high initial investment costs, uncertainty about optimal robot utilization post-implementation, and difficulty in predicting labor-saving benefits before adoption.

Recognizing these challenges, LexxPluss and Mitsubishi HC Capital entered into a capital and business alliance in 2024 (*1) to develop and provide a service that makes robot adoption more accessible. As the first outcome of this collaboration, the companies have now launched LexxSubCare, a subscription-based solution tailored for logistics businesses.

2. About LexxSubCare

LexxSubCare supports the introduction of automation by using the implementation results from LexxPluss’s logistics warehouses and other projects. It provides assistance for customers’ robot adoption with a minimum of 2 robots, including the setting of transport routes, layout design within warehouses, and configuration of surrounding equipment, based on standard specifications. After installation, LexxSubCare provides various data, such as operational performance, through servers installed at the robot’s usage locations to visualize the results and optimize automation. Since it is a subscription-based service, customers can consolidate costs for robot-friendly layout design, maintenance of robots and software, and other services, reducing initial costs and standardizing expenses.

The systems covered by LexxSubCare include the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) “Lexx500,” which can transport items weighing up to 500 kg, the “LexxTug” unit for automatic attachment and detachment of 6-wheeled carts or cage carts used by customers, and the operation management software “LexxFleet.”

In the future, the two companies will support robot introduction and automation for logistics providers through LexxSubCare, while also working to enhance service solutions based on customer requests and needs.
